Kek Lok Si Temple, Penang, Malaysia

Kek Lok Si Temple is probably the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia. To get there, you’ll need to go through the busy alleys of Air Hitam market. What I love about this place is the huge statue of the Goddess Kuan Yin. It’s massive and it’s at the top of the mountain. It’s looking down the small town. There was a temple which had about 10,000 Buddha images displayed across he temple. On the way to the shrine there’s a courtyard in the middle of a large pond full of carps and the tortoises. It’s pretty cool.
