So yeah…me and my friend went to 3 cities in Italy and guess what we did when we were there. Yes, we ate Gelato!!! Gosh it was awesome! It’s like rolls and rolls of heaven that melts in your mouth especially while taking a break from walking around Roma’s super sunny afternoon.
Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream, and literally means frozen. Gelato is made with a base of milk, cream, and sugar, and flavored with fruit and nut purees and other flavourings. (Wikipedia)
This is the view of the Bartolomeo Diaz Beach, Cape of Good Hope in South Africa from the foot of the Cape of Good Hope Lighthouse. It was such a beautiful sight. I stared at this landscape for a good 10 minutes. It was surreal. This photo doesn’t even justify half of it’s beauty. Definitely one of my favorite sceneries in Cape Town.

We ate at Dieu Donne Vineyards, Franschhoek in Cape Town, South Africa during one of our stops during our wine tour in Cape Town. I ordered Springbok with Potato dauphinoise, butternut purée, wilted spinach, truffled exotic mushrooms and a port jus. It was really good! The springbok meat was so soft and it was tender. I loved it so much! I thought it will be gamey but it was far from gamey. I highly recommend this restaurant and they have really good wine as well!
We had this salmon soup and rye bread in Ravintola Kannas (Kannas Restaurant) in Helsinki, Finland. It was the best fish soup I’ve had so far. The salmon was so fresh and the soup was amazing! It’s perfect with the rye bread that was included when you order it. Oh and by the way, the serving of this soup is good for 3-6 people. It in a massive bowl. It was affordable and definitely worth every penny. It’s perfect for big groups coz it’s massive and it’s full of fish meat and potatoes. We ordered this as a starter before we gorged down the meat platter we ordered that had reindeer and venison in it. Gosh how I wish I can have this meal again!
Hanoi, for me, is the Street Food capital of Southeast Asia. It’s my favorite Southeast Asian city.
What I’m featuring in this post is Bánh cuốn. I had it literally on the side of the road. It’s so good! It’s made of Vietnamese steamed rice rolls sheets filled with something like uh smoked pork inside the rolls and topped with fried shallots then you dip it in a Vietnamese sauce which I guess is made up of fish sauce, water, onions and maybe some chillies. I loved it! It’s incredibly refreshing. It’s light and perfect specially for breakfast or light snack.
I had this when I was in Paris in Feb 2016. Me and some very nice French people brought us to this awesome restaurant called Cannibale Café. I ordered Steak tartare which is a meat dish made from raw ground meat. I found it interesting so I ordered it. I didn’t know that beef can be eaten raw.
My order came and I was so fascinated because it was really raw and topped with raw egg! I tried it and it tasted good so I finished it. It was a good decision. I liked it a lot. 🙂
I had this Ostrich stew with Pap at The March of Time restaurant along Long Street in Cape Town, South Africa. It was the best meal I’ve had during that week-long trip. The Ostrich Stew was so good! It was my first time to eat Ostrich and this restaurant didn’t fail me. The ostrich meat tasted a bit like pork, I was expecting it to be like chicken but it was more gamey than pork but better taste. It was amazing and it’s perfect with Pap! Pap is popular in Cape Town. It’s a staple food for Bantu people in South Africa. They even have Pap as side dish in their KFC. It’s made of ground maize. I ate it almost every meal when I was in Cape Town. It’s perfect with chicken and gravy. 😍
PS. This restaurant is perfect! They have good food with great live African music!
